Photoshop: editing images

Opening an image
I clicked ‘Open’ on the Photoshop home screen and selected my image.

Cropping an image
In the tool bar on the left hand side, I selected this icon Screen Shot 2017-07-26 at 10.51.17 (crop tool).

I selected ‘Original Ratio’ which crops to the image’s original ratio.

I then chose the area I wanted to crop and clicked enter.

Resizing an image
I went to Image > Image Resize

Which brought up this window.

I then resized the image to 1000 pixels wide.

Adjusting an image
On the right hand side of the screen (above the layers) I clicked on ‘Adjustments’ which allowed me to edit brightness, contrast, saturation etc.

I edited the colour balance to bring out some of the blue colours.

And altered the brightness and contrast to lift the image.

Saving an image
As a PSD (photoshop) file: File > Save As > Format: Photoshop > Save.
